Islamabad (ENN):Federal Capital Islamabad witnessed huge presence of people including Sindh is to hear their favorite classical singer Ustad Shafi Faqeer of Tharparkar.
Lok Virsa and Indus Cultural Forum (ICF) organized a musical evening with renowned singer Ustad Shafi on Monday at Lok Virsa Islamabad media center that was attended by huge music and soofi songs loving people including women and children.
Dr Fouzia Saeed, administrator of Lok Virsa, Niaz Nadeem, chairman of ICF and Ustad Shafi Faqeer while addressing the crowd emphasised on the need of love, peace and harmony through Soofi music.
Dr Fouzia and Niaz Nadeem appreciated the efforts of Ustad Shafi for promoting classical and soofi songs in and out of Pakistan and they lauded Ustad Shafi’s love for the land and creating a cadre of young classical/ folk singers.
Ustad Shafi received standing ovation while reciting from the verses of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in the beginning; while he sang various songs including his famous song “Sakhi piya k milen ta chaejan, chandni to siwa na theendy” (Oh my friend whenever you meet my beloved, communicate him that there will be no moon light except him).
People from various walks of life attended the evening and enjoyed the great music of Ustad Shafi.
