Foot ball tournament: Youth engagement in sports stressed
ZHOB (By Rafiullah Mandokhail/ENN) Advisor to CM Balochistan Mitha Khan Kakar said, sport is an effective and meaningful way for engaging youth, it also gives them a lesson of tolerance. Encouraging and engaging the young generation in sports, literally ensures a secured future, peaceful and developed society.
He was speaking at the closing ceremony of a football tournament held at The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS Zhob campus). Director BUITEMS Dr Abdul Salam Lodhi and District Programme Manager Balochistan Rural Support Programme Quttab Khan Afaqi were also present on the occasion.
The football tournament entitled ‘Youth Engagement’ was organized by the BUITEMS in collaboration with the BRSP – National Poverty Graduation Programme (NPGP) on the futsal court of the varsity. The final match was played between the Degree College football club and Lala Shaheed football club. Finally, Lala Shaheed club won the final match.
DPM BRSP Quttab Khan Afaqi, in his welcome speech said that organizing the tournament was aimed at promoting the sports activities among the youth and engage the young segment of society in healthy and positive activities, where the sportsmen can prove their mettle.
Talking to the players, member of Balochistan assembly Mitha Khan Kakar said that the sports activities were extremely important for the youth and said he was pleased to see the players with their excellent sporting skills.
‘Participation in sports promises good health and therefore, such activities should be promoted. I was thrilled to see the passion and keen interest of the youth in sporting activities,’ he admired.
Advisor to CM Balochistan also appreciated the efforts and generous contribution of BRSP in the development sector and said the organization has done excellent development work in every nook and corner of the poverty-hit Balochistan. Organizing sports events and engaging the youth was another good initiative of the organization.
Meanwhile, Mitha Khan Kakar, Dr Abdul Salam Lodhi and Quttab Afaqi distributed trophies among the winner and runner-up teams including other players.
