Karachi (PR) Sindh Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), a high-level parliamentary body formed to enhance the role of women Members’ of the Provincial Assembly for promoting social, economic and political empowerment of women through legislation and oversight, after three and half years of its establishment got well equipped office to play its required legal role more effectively under the project titled “ Policy Advocacy and Research to Strengthen Implementation of Pro-Women Legislation and Gender Based Violence (GBV) Response Services in Sindh” being implemented by Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) with the support of Trociare and the Australian Government.

The patron of WPC and the deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza, welcomed and appreciated the support of the SPO in establishing WPC office to serve its overall objectives for women empowerment of Sindh.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday here at Sindh Assembly Building was participated by former chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, senior minister Nisar Khuhro, WPC’s convener Sira Shahlyani, secretary general and MQM-P member Rana Ansar Siddiqi, health minister Dr Sikandar Mendhro, Nand Lal of PML-F, WPC office bearers, members, legislatures of Sindh Assembly and other civil society representatives.
According to press release issued by SPO’s Raheema Panhwar, the support aimed at providing office environment to the WPC and women legislatures of Sindh to conduct meetings and respond the challenges encountered by the women of Sindh by serving its objectives.
