انتخابات 2018 : 122 امیدوار دہری شہریت کے حامل، پنجا ب سب سے آگے، سابق وزیراعلیٰ سندھ کینیڈین شہری نکلے-General Elections 2018: FIA finds 122 candidates with dual nationality

اسلام آباد(رپورٹ: لالا حسن)عام انتخابات 2018 میں حصہ لینے کے خواہش مند اور اس سے پہلے پارلیمنٹ کا حصہ رہنے والے  122 سے زائد شخصیات  دہری شہریت کے حامل نکلی ہیں۔

زرائع کے مطابق ایف آئی  اے نے ایک لسٹ الیکشن کمیشن کو فراہم کی ہے جس میں ان امیدواروں کے تفصیلات ہیں جن کے پاس دوہری شہریت ہے۔ الیکشن کمیشن نے وہ فہرست متعلقہ آر اوز کو ارسال کردی ہے۔ اس لسٹ کے مطابق سابق وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ مراد علی شاہ کی کینیڈین شہریت ہے، جب کہ وہ یے اعلان کر چکے  تھے کہ انہوں نے دہری شہریت چھوڑ دی ہے۔

پی ٹی آئی کے فیصل واوڈا، پی ایس پی کی فوزیہ قصوری، این کے نادر لغاری امریکی شہریت رکھتے ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ آریش کمار کینیڈا، ملیکہ بخاری برطانیہ کی شہریت کی حامل ہیں۔ ایف آئی اے رپورٹ کے مطابق 26 امیداوروں کے پاس امریکی، 24 کے پاس کنییڈین شہریت ہے، 3 امیدواروں کے پاس آئرلینڈ، 2 کے پاس بلجیئم کی شہریت ہے۔جب کہ بعض امیدواروں کے پاس سنگاپور، آسٹریلیا، جرمنی،اٹلی، جنوبی افریقہ، اسپین اور ازبکستان کی شہریت ہے۔

الیکشن کمیشن کو موصول ہونے والی دوہری شہریت کے حامل امیدواروں کی فہرست کے مطابق 60 امیداروں برطانوی شہریت کے حامل ہیں۔خیال رہے کہ دہری شہریت کا حامل شخص انتخابات میں حصہ نہیں لے سکتا، انتخابات میں حصہ لینے کے لیے دوسرے ملک کی شہریت ترک کرنا ضروری ہے۔فہرست کے مطابق پنجاب 49 اور سندھ سے 11 امیدوار دہری شہریت کے حامل ہیں، جب کہ دیگر کا تعلق خیبرپختونخوا اور بلوچستان سے ہے۔

General Elections 2018: FIA finds 122 candidates with dual nationality

ISLAMABAD (ENNS) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has handed over to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) a list of 122 nomination papers it has found to have been filed by candidates holding dual nationality.

The list includes several prominent names, including the PPP’s former chief minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda, Nadar Laghari, Areesha, Malika Siddiqi and veteran politician Fauzia Kasuri, of the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).

There are a few double entries in the list, as the FIA has considered nomination papers filed for different seats separately even if they have been filed by the same person.

There are a total of 49 glitches in the nomination papers filed for the National Assembly, 53 in papers filed for the Punjab Assembly, 11 in papers for Sindh, eight in papers for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one in papers filed for the Balochistan Assembly.

The data was gathered from the FIA’s Integrated Border Management System (IBMS), which records traveler data of all incoming and outgoing passengers traveling across the Pakistani border.

The FIA received a total of 19,880 records from the ECP, which it parsed through its system to identify 122 individuals who had traveled on foreign passports.

Out of the total, 60 were found to be UK nationals, 26 American nationals, 24 Canadian passport holders, three Irish, two from Belgium and one each who held passports issued by Singapore, Australia, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Spain and even Uzbekistan.

According to sources some of the politicians had announced to surrender their dual nationality, which needs to be more scrutinised.
