ISLAMABAD/ SIALKOT (ENN) An anguished mob of people demolished the Qadiyaani community’s worship place “Ahmedia Baitul Zikar” located in Sialkot city’s congested Kashmiri Muhallah here during the midnight attack on this building, midnight of Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the details, a mob of the outraged people, about 200 to 250 people, mostly belonging to the local religious parties, reached the area and they attacked on this Ahmadi worship place. Armed with the hammers, iron rods, bricks, wooden sticks and other helping equipment, the attackers started demolishing this building.
The outraged people, most of them the activists of local religious parties and even the students of local religious seminaries, were chanting the loud slogans of “Labaik Ya Rasul Allah” slogans, as witnessed in the video clips, made by the local different religious parties capturing this entire episode. These clips went viral on social media as well.
Reportedly, several employees of the Sialkot Municipal Corporation also allegedly took part in this demolition on the spot.

Muhammad Jehangir Qadari (District President Pakistan Sunni Tehreek Sialkot), Sahibzada Hamid Raza(former AJK Minister for Religious Affairs and present PTI leader Sialkot) and local leaders of the Shabab-e-Milli and Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasul Allah jointly led this midnight demolishing operation there, besides, pledging to even sacrifice their lives for the Tehreek-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat and Tuhafaz-e-Namoos-e-Risaalat.
After demolishing this building, the mob dispersed. They said that this demolishing incident was the reaction by the Muslims against the illegal construction of the Qadiyaani Museum by the local Qadiyaani community as well.
On May 09, 2018 (two weeks ago), followed by the strong protest and mounting pressure by the local religious parties, the Sialkot Municipal Corporation and Sialkot district administration had sealed this Qadiyaani worship place after the illegal construction of a “Qadiyaani Museum” in this building known as “Ahmedia Baitul Zikar” which was located at Sialkot city’s congested Kashmiri Muhallah, near the Iqbal Manzil (the birthplace of Allama Iqbal at Sialkot.
A big contingent of police and the personnel of the law enforcing agencies remained present at the spot to avert any reaction by the local Qadiyaani community or to maintain law and order situation there.
No case has yet been registered against any accused by police for attacking and demolishing this Qadiyaani worship place in Sialkot.
Police said that no one has yet submitted any application at the Naikapura police station for the registration of case, in this regard.
When contacted, the Chief Officer of Sialkot Municipal Corporation Muhammad Zafar Qureshi said that the Sialkot Municipal Corporation was not directly involved in this demolishing operation, saying that the outraged mob of the people demolished this Qadiyaani worship place.
He said that, however, the Sialkot Municipal Coroporation had got registered a case (No.271/2018) at Naikapura police station on May 09, 2018 under the 132(3) Punjab Local Government Act 2013 against two accused Qadiyaani persons Mumtaz Butt and Abdul Sattar for starting illegal construction of a “Qadiyaani Museum” at their worship place Ahmedia Baitul Zikar. This case was registered on the report of Zaka Ullah (Inspector Enforcement of Sialkot Municipal Corporation).
In Sialkot, this four Marlas’ ancient building was stated to be the one of the remains of the Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyaani, said some local Qadiyaani people here today.
Local Qadiyaani people wanted to establish a triple storey Qadiyaan Museum at this place in memorium of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyaani.
On May 09, 2018, following the strong protest lodged by the local religious parties, the Sialkot Municipal Corporation and Sialkot District Administration had sealed this place in a bid to maintain law and order situation in Sialkot, besides, halting this illegal construction of the Qadiyaani Museum as well.
