SIALKOT (ENN) Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent the accused attacker Abid Hussain to jail on two-week long judicial remand in attempted murder on Interior Minister Ch. Ahsan Iqbal, asking the police to submit the complete challan of this case before the ATC Gujranwala till June 01, 2018 for further trial.
The police produced the accused Abid Hussain, wearing mask, before the ATC in this case. Police told the court that the forensic laboratory has also issued the report which revealed that the bullet fired by the accused Abid Hussain was matching with the pistol recovered from the accused after the assassination attack on Interior Minister Ch. Ahsan Iqbal.
Police have also recovered a motorcycle from the accused which he used during this nasty incident, said the police officials.
Police told the ATC Gujranwala Judge Zafar Iqbal Naeem that the police have completed the investigation of this case, as the accused has confessed his sin of attacking on Interior Minister Ch. Ahsan Iqbal, besides, the accused was also found guilty in separate inquiries conducted by the different teams and agencies as well.
On May 06, 2018 (Twelve days ago), the Federal Interior Minister Ch. Ahsan Iqbal was injured seriously , survived in an assassination attack by accused Abid Hussain , an activist of Tehreek Labaik, when the Interior Minister Ch. Ahsan Iqbal was leaving the venue after addressing a corner meeting of the local Christian Community in village Kanjrur, Shakargarh tehsil, Narowal district here.
Accused confessed that he was planning to kill Ch. Ahsan Iqbal for the last several months as a “punishment” for PML-N government’s attempt to amend the Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risaalat Act.
Now, following the orders of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), the police have sent the accused to local jail on his two-week long judicial remand in this case.
