Woman allegedly tortured, poisoned to death in Sialkot

SIALKOT (ENN) A married woman Hina Batool (24) was allegedly brutally tortured and poisoned to death by her accused husband and her in-laws over a domestic dispute in village Sadraana Syedaan, Sialkot tehsil here a few days ago.

Victim Hina Batool’s brother Kabir Hussain told the police that she was married to Muhammad Ashraf three years ago. She was mother of a minor daughter. He said that victim Hina wanted to live with her husband in a separate house due to which her in-laws were annoyed with her.

Kabir Hussain added that victim Hina phoned him that her husband and in-laws were brutally torturing her physically. Later, her accused husband Ashraf also phoned him (Kabir) that Hina has died at local hospital. Kabir told the police that accused Ashraf and his family brutally tortured physically Hina first and later poisoned her to death forcibly, saying that the doctors have confirmed that she was poisoned to death.

On his report, the Sialkot Saddar police have registered a case against victim Hina Batool’s husband accused Ashraf and five other persons of his family for torturing her and killing her after forcibly giving her poison. Police have started investigation after arresting the accused husband.

While in another incident as many as 27 armed accused created firing and harassment in the area by firing on the shop of a murder case’s petitioner Saif Ullah as a “punishment” for not patching up with the accused rival party in this two week old murder case, in Qila Kalarwala, Pasrur tehsil here today.

According to the details, as many as 27 armed accused including Zulfiqar, Irshad, Kausar and Iftikhar sprayed bullets on the shop of Saif Ullah and tried to kill him for not patching up with the accused in a murder case.

The accused had killed Allah Rakha, a very close relative of Saif Ullah, over an old enmity, about two weeks ago. Now, the accused were pressurizing the petitioner of this murder case local trader Saif Ullah for patch up and he was refusing.

The local traders also observed the shutter down agitational strike against this nasty incident, demanding early arrest of the accused.

Qila Kalarwala police have registered a case against 27 accused with no arrest, in this regard.

Meanwhile, Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Asad Sarfraz Khan, while taking very serious notice of this nasty incident, has suspended inspector Fahad Shah (SHO Qila Kalarwala police station) with immediate effect for his negligence.
