SIALKOT/ISLAMABAD (ENN) A large number of the local lawyers and the activists of the religious parties, here on Saturday, held rally to lodge their protest against the illegal construction of a “Ahmadi Museum” by local in Sialkot city’s congested Kashmiri Muhallah near the Iqbal Manzil (the birth place of Allama Iqbal).
The protesting lawyers were carrying agitational banners and placards. They chanted slogans and demanded immediate halting of what they called it illegal construction.
Later, the protesters also called on Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Dr. Farrukh Naveed and informed him about their protest. Sialkot DC told them that the Sialkot district administration had already halted the said construction besides, sealing the building, where the local community was establishing the Museum”.
President Sialkot DBA Muhammad Irfanul Haq, Sialkot MMA District General Secretary Hafiz Hussain Ahmed Awan, MMA Sialkot information secretary Arif Mehmood Sheikh and General Secretary PML-Q Sialkot District Ch. Ansar Iqbal Baryar (former MPA) were also present on this occasion.
However according to legal experts the article 20 and 28 of the constitution of Pakistan 1973 allow all religions to establish their religious and cultural places.
