SIALKOT (ENN) SCCI auditorium echoed with “Lab Pey Aati Hey Dua Ban Key Tamana Meri” beautifully sung in their melodious voices by the students of the local universities, colleges and schools, who participated in the Kalam-e-Iqbal and speeches contests, during the celebrations held here, organized by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in connection with the Iqbal Day.
A large number of the students of Govt. College Women University (GCWU) Sialkot, University of Gujrat (UoG) Sialkot Campus, University of Management and Technology (UMT) Sialkot, Govt. Murray College Sialkot and different private colleges and schools, their teachers and the Sialkot based exporters attended this prestigious event.
SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik presided over the meeting. While, SCCI SVP Abdul Waheed, Vice President Abid Ahmed Khawaja , SCCI Event Management Committee’s Chairman Mian Khalil Ahmed, Shehzada Ibne Iqbal Syed, Abdul Rauf Mughal, Chairperson SCCI Committee on Women Entrepreneurs Dr. Mariyam Nouman also attended the function.
On This occasion, the participants paid homage to Great Poet Philosopher Allama Iqbal, the son of Sialkot soil. They said that the soil of Sialkot had become invincible after giving birth to the great Allama Iqbal.
SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik announced to make all out sincere efforts for the promotion of Iqbaliyat and philosophy and theory of Allama Iqbal as well. He said that the teachings of Allama Iqbal are like a beacon of light to maintain tolerance, peace and stability in the society.
Abid Ahmed Khawaja stressed the need to follow teachings of Allama Muhammad Iqbal to retrieve the country from various challenges it is facing. Dr. Mariyam Nouman, Chairperson SCCI Committee for Women Entrepreneurs said the teachings of Iqbal were no doubt the beacon of light for the entire world, in the current circumstances.
Abdul Waheed, Waqas Akram Awan, Maj (Rtd) Mansur Ahmed, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Mian Khalil Ahmed, Shezada Iben Iqbal Syed, Mohsin Gull and Abdul Rauf Mughal revealed that Allama Iqbal highlighted the sense of unity in Muslim Ummah and raised voice in favour of economic justice.
Later, the special prizes, cash prizes and appreciation certificates were also awarded to students.
