LANDIKOTAL (ENN) A Jirga of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) grand alliance has rejected the possible Fata merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and threatened to leave the country if the government takes any step without the consent of ten million tribal people.
A large number of tribal elders and others from different tribal areas of Fata and FRs participated in the Jirga held at Bagh-e-Naran in Peshawar on Sunday. Khan Marjan from Waziristan tribal agency led the Jirga while Malik Salahuddin Kukikhel, Malik Waris Khan, Malik Absur Razzaq Shinwari also spoke on the occasion.
Khan Marjan said the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief of the Army Staff should esteem the tribal elders and the majority of the people. He said for point scoring the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government was intentionally ignoring the say of tribal people who rendered sacrifices for the peace and stability in Fata.
He told that they were in contact with the leader of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who will meet the tribal elders on 20th December in Peshawar to devise a strategy on the issue. He said they were planning to hold grand meetings in every tribal agency and organize protests against the government.
Malik Waris Khan Afridi said they would organize a sit-in in Jamrud from next week to record their peaceful protest against the decision likely prepared to appease political Parties’ leaders.
Tribal elders threatened that they would give call of leaving Fata if government takes any decision without their consent.
