Landikotal (ENN) The border authorities on Tuesday informed the Pakistani citizens to return to their country from Afghanistan as no one will be allowed to enter via Torkham gate without valid passport from 15th November.
A senior security forces official, on the condition of anonymity, told that they have received a message from interior ministry to stop crossing of all Pakistani nationals without valid passport. He said Islamabad had set November 15, the final deadline to permit Pakistani citizens to enter their country only showing their national identity cards at Torkham border.
Several banners were also hanged on the various locations in Torkham bazaar to inform Pakistanis to avoid travel to Afghanistan without valid Passport. It was asked from the Pakistani nationals to enter Pakistan before November 15 as they would not be granted permission after the expiration of deadline.
“They will not further extend the deadline and no Pakistani national would be allowed to enter from Afghanistan via Torkham border without proper travel documents”, the official maintained.
He said passport was a must for Pakistanis to show it at Torkham border.
He added that all the security steps taken at Torkham entrance point were to improve peace and security along the Pak-Afghan border. The official said they imposed few sanctions and restrictions at Torkham border to enforce the border management policy with letter and spirit.
