MITHIANI (ENN/ By Waqar Hassan & Rana Ikramullah) Responsible journalism can lead to a democratic society in Pakistan, so we must adopt professional standards of Journalism, observed PPP member Sindh Assembly Mr Mumtaz Ali Chandio and Mr Sohail Akhtar Abbasi, the Chairman District Council Naushahro Feroze while addressing an oath taking ceremony of the Press club Mithiani Registered here on Saturday.
Mr. Chandio said our party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is the future of Pakistan and he believes in free media and real democracy. “Our party is committed to serve the people of Pakistan and free media is essential for Democracy” added Mr Chandio.
Mr Abbasi said balanced and responsible journalism should be adopted and we respect the sacrifices of the Journalists for democracy.
Mr. Abdul Wahab Abbasi, chairman Abbasi-Kalhora Development Organisation said all stake holders must play their required role to strengthen core values of journalism as well as democracy.
President District Bar Association Naushahro Feroze Mr Muhammad Ayaz Mari while commending the role of media said we need professional excellence in journalism and as well as in Bar as both professions are noble in it’s nature.
Senior journalist and media lawyer/ trainer Lala Hassan Pathan shared PPF’s figures on journalists safety and Journalists safety laws quoting that without free media, one could not even imagine of strong democracy.
The oath taking ceremony was addressed and participated by large number of people including M. Budhal Malik, Abdul Karim Panhwar, Sikandar Ali Akash, Atteeq Rehman Qureshi, Rasool Bux Bhatti, Farooque Aman Abvasi, Abdul Wahid Abbasi, Lala Shaukat Baloch, Rao Tufail Ahmed, Lala Anwar Pathan, Ghulam Sarwar Baghai, Piet Jabbar Josh, Gul Bahar Gul, SHO Nasrullah Janwary, Naveed Ali Mastoi, Faisal Mastoi, Nabi Bux Mastoi, Manzoor Malik, and others.
Mr. Mumtaz Ali Chandio, Mr Sohail Akhtar Abbasi and Mr. Abdul Karim Panhwar announced one hundred thousand rupees each for Press club apart from construction of the building.
