LAHORE (ENN) CJAP organized a meeting on ‘Role of Media in Strengthening the Church in Pakistan’ in Lahore under the chair of Moderator Bishop Raiwand Diocese Azad Marshal Church of Pakistan. The meeting aimed to synergise media professionals with religious leadership in order to minimise the issues of forced conversion, discrimination and imbalance in socio-economic opportunities for religious minorities.
Bishop Azad Marshal, articulated that Mainstream Media and Social Media professional holds vital significant in shaping the positive image of Church and community. Bishop also praised the efforts of CJAP and assured the support of Church in facilitating, capacitating strengthening Christian Journalists.
Pointing the under-respresentation of minorities, he urged Pakistani Churches of all denominations to support media professionals in order to voice the issues of voiceless.
Journalists from Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujnarwala and Peshawar participated in meeting along with members of clergy and civil society.
