KHAIRPUR MIRS (ENNS) Teaching children is a great profession and young teachers are expected to benefit from world’s best practices of positive discipline and class management. This was stated by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Mirs while inaugurating the Training Workshop on Positive Disciplining, Classroom Management, and Child Protection for B. Ed & M. Ed Students at Shah Abdul Latif University.

Legal Rights Forum (LRF) in collaboration with Save the Children and Department of Teacher Education jointly organizing a Training Program for capacitating of 150 B. Ed and M. Ed Students at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur from April 6-9, 2021 as part of their ongoing project on Child Protection in Sindh. The Training Program aimed at to capacitate young teachers and students in innovative ways of positive discipline and classroom management.

Addressing the Inaugural Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto stressed on the need to think beyond curriculum taught in the class rooms and he welcomed organizations like Legal Rights Forum and Save the Children to strengthen university programs in this regard. He appreciated the management of Legal Rights Forum for choosing Shah Abdul Latif University for capacitating their students on such an important issue of Positive Disciplining, Classroom Management, and Child Protection.

Talking to the participants of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said “you are the ambassador of the nation and future teacher”. He narrated that with the teamwork spirit we are heading towards positivism. With wisdom and confidence, we will develop this institution to its maximum heights. He said there is abundant talent in your personality, we are committed to shine your personality by organizing such type of workshops for your capacity building.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean, Faculty of Social Science, Manzoor Hussain Larik, Dean Faculty of Law, Malik Tahir Iqbal, CEO, LRF, Farzana Jabeen Khoso, Incharge Department of Teacher Education, Tania Atzaz, Program Coordinator, Save the Children Pakistan, Shahid Shafiq, Senior Faculty Member, Sindh Judicial Academy, Sajjad Ali Lolai, also spoke during the Inaugural Ceremony of Training Program.

The speakers urged that physical and humiliation punishments at homes and schools may be eliminated because psychologically it creates frustration and stress among the students. They appreciated the Sindh Government’s initiatives for the establishment of Child Protection Authority of Social Welfare Department.

Zahid Hussain Sahito, Dr. Tarique Bhatti, Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, Liza Khan, Miss Dua Khan, Social Mobilizers Junaid Tanwari, Shahid Udano and large number of students attended the inaugural session of workshop.
