RAHIM YAR KHAN (By Bilal Habib) Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight delayed for 6 hours due to its non functional cargo door and passengers faced difficulties. Reports said that when all the
passengers were boarded on Karachi bound flight PK-583 at 8.30 am the
cargo door of ATR plane stopped working.
The plane staff initially
tried to close the cargo door but to no avail.Later all the passengers were off loaded and sent back to the departure lounge.
PIA staff at Sheikh Zayed International Airport (SZIA) RYK presented the snacks and juices who faced long wait.
Many passengers had to join their offices and some had important meetings. Later PIA administration send the request to Karachi and Lahore of technical assistance but a technical expert arrived at SZIARYK from Lahore through PK-672 who repaired the electronic computerized cargo door.
Then PK-583 departed
for Karach at 3 pm.
PIA spokesperson Mashhood told that due to
technical issue with cargo door of aircraft our flight PK-583 from RYK
to Karachi was delayed till 3 pm. PIA engineering team arrived from Lahore and carried out the repair work which was completed by 2.30 pm. After proper clearance the aircraft took off for Karachi.
Meanwhile the passengers were disembarked and refreshments and lunch was served. PIA management regreted the inconvenience caused to them, he added.
