LANDIKOTAL (ENN) Shopkeepers, bazaar union members and Tanzeem-e-Naujawanan Khugakhel(TNK) here on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the arrest of shopkeepers in the theft case.
The protesters were holding black flags, banners, and placards inscribed with their demands. They marched from Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal Bazaar and chanted slogans against local administration.
Speaking outside the press club president of TNK, Israr Ahmad Shinwari accused Landikotal tehsil administration over arresting innocent shopkeepers in the bazaar shop robbery case.
“Tehsildar is not interested to probe into the case. But when we demanded an investigation tehsildar arrested innocent shopkeepers including my brother”, Israr regretted.
The protesters demanded forthwith probe into the shop robbery case and release of arrested shopkeepers.
The protesters threatened of observe shutter down strike in Landikotal bazaar if their legal demands were not accepted.
Last week few burglars had stolen 160 mobile phones worth millions of rupees from a shop breaking the rooftop of a shop in Landikotal.
